When a famous Federation scientist dies, his son puts his inventions up for auction. Among the items is a photon pulse canon. When Wesley Crusher is kidnapped by renegade Ferengi who have set their sights on this photon canon, Captain Picard must outmaneuver enemies on every side - to save Wesley and to protect the Enterprise from the canon!
